Horseback Trail Rides

This trip to the Valley is a memory you will enjoy for a long time. Escape from the city's frenzy, noise, and pollution to the peaceful and scenic Sonoran Desert on one of our horses.

MacDonald's Ranch is proud of its gentle, user-friendly horses. Be sure to tell our wranglers how much riding experience you have, and they'll carefully choose a horse you will enjoy. After we place you on your horse, our professional guides will lead you down scenic trails with views of endless saguaros and desert wildlife.

MacDonald's Ranch is devoted to its horses. We take great care to ensure each horse is in top condition at all times. They are hard working animals and staff members pamper them. Each horse is matched with its rider according to the horse's temperament and rider's ability. Because of this, your visit with our horses will be a very pleasant experience.

Some of our horses are movie stars. Some movies they have been seen in are "Braveheart" and "Stair Case", as well as appearances in documentaries for Discovery Channel and the television series "Walker Texas Ranger."

Hay Rides

Groups will enjoy a fun-filled ride aboard a Hay Wagon pulled by one of our favorite teams. You'll be able to sing songs, and enjoy the desert scenery, while we whisk you and your group off to a Cowboy Cookout of steak or chicken dinner cooked outdoors over open fires.

What should I wear?

We recommend you wear boots or tennis shoes and jeans for riding and hayrides. Layering blouses and shirts may help prepare for unpredictable warm or cold weather. Expensive jewelry or valuable items that may easily get lost are better left behind.
